FORTALEZA, Brésil - Le médecin de l'équipe brésilienne a révélé que Neymar ratera le reste de la Coupe du monde après avoir été victime d'une fracture d'une vertèbre pendant le match quart de finale remporté 2-1 contre la Colombie.

Neymar, qui ratera quatre semaines d'activités, a reçu un coup de genou dans le dos de la part du défenseur colombien Juan Camilo Zuniga en deuxième demie. Il était en pleurs lorsqu'il a quitté le terrain sur une civière.

Il a été transporté dans une clinique locale et le médecin de l'équipe, Rodrigo Lasmar, a précisé après le match que l'attaquant vedette s'était fracturé la troisième vertèbre. Il a ensuite complété le trajet jusqu'au camp de base de l'équipe brésilienne, situé à Teresopolis, en ambulance.

Cette blessure ne devrait pas exiger d'intervention chirurgicale, et la rééducation devrait s'échelonner sur quatre semaines, a précisé la confédération.

On ignore pour l'instant si Neymar demeurera avec l'équipe, qui se prépare en prévision de son duel de demi-finale de la Coupe du monde de soccer mardi contre l'Allemagne à Belo Horizonte. La formation brésilienne devrait rester à son camp de base jusqu'à lundi.

Neymar est la grande vedette de l'équipe brésilienne et il a marqué quatre buts pour son équipe jusqu'ici dans le tournoi.
