Tom Hardy serait-il un vrai super héros? C'est ce que l'on se demande depuis que l'on a appris, grâce à The Sun, que l'acteur avait réussi à arrêter un jeune voleur de scooter dans les alentours de Richmond (au sud-ouest de Londres).
Dans cet article publié le 24 avril, la scène qui nous est racontée semble tout droit tirée d'un film d'action: deux adolescents, après avoir volé un scooter, s'enfuient et, après avoir grillé un feu rouge, entrent en collision avec une voiture. Abandonnant le butin, le premier parvient à s'échapper mais le second n'est pas assez rapide. C'est à ce moment-là que la star de "Mad Max: Fury Road" intervient.
Des témoins racontent: "C'était complètement fou, comme s'il était passé en mode super-héros. Il est parti en flèche, s'est mis à courir, avec un air furieux." Rattrapé par Tom Hardy, puis maintenu à terre jusqu'à l'arrivée des services de police, l'adolescent en question, un jeune âgé de 16 ans à peine, a été décrit par sa mère comme souffrant de graves troubles mentaux.
En 2016, grâce à sa performance remarquable dans "The Revenant" aux côtés de Leonardo di Caprio, Tom Hardy avait été nominé pour l'Oscar du meilleur acteur dans un second rôle. Il était ensuite retourné en Angleterre afin de travailler comme producteur, avec son père, sur la série "Taboo" dans laquelle il tient le rôle principal. Il sera prochainement à l'affiche de "Dunkerque", le nouveau film de guerre très attendu de Christopher Nolan (trilogie Batman) dont la sortie est prévue pour juillet 2017.
