Selon Detroit News, Ty Houston, 48 ans, infirmier à domicile à Southfield Township, Michigan, était en train de remplir son bulletin de vote lundi après-midi quand un vieil homme à ses côtés est mort.
"J'étais en train de remplir mon bulletin à côté d'un couple de personnes âgées" a raconté Houston à Detroit News." La femme, qui aidait son mari à remplir son bulletin, lui a posé plusieurs questions mais il n'a pas répondu. Elle a alors hurlé à l'aide et j'ai accouru pour voir ce que je pouvais faire".
Houston a alors étendu la victime non identifiée sur le sol.
"Il était mort", continue Houston. "Son coeur ne battait plus, il ne respirait plus. J'ai commencé à pratiquer les premiers gestes de secours et après quelques minutes, il était de retour à la vie, respirant à nouveau. Il connaissait son nom et celui de sa femme."
Et quelle est la première question que l'homme a posée ? "Est-ce que j'ai voté ?". Houston et la femme de la victime en sont restés stupéfaits.
Selon CBS, l'homme - qui avait une trachéotomie à la gorge - a repris son souffle plusieurs fois pour ensuite confier à sa femme que seules deux choses comptaient pour lui : "Que je t'aime et que je finisse ce pour quoi je suis venu... voter".
C'est beau le comportement citoyen...
