Le premier ministre Justin Trudeau est trop mou contre le terrorisme et tient trop à démontrer au monde entier à quel point il est beau garçon, selon une chronique mordante publiée dans un magazine brésilien cette semaine.

Veja, un hebdomadaire populaire très critique à l’endroit des politiques libérales, a récemment lancé une campagne pour faire démissionner la présidente dans la foulée d’un scandale de corruption.

Dans sa chronique intitulée « Justin Trudeau est adorable, mais excessivement ordinaire », la chroniqueuse aux affaires internationales Vilma Gryzinski s’en prend aux politiques du premier ministre canadien. Elle suggère que son attitude inclusive sur l’immigration et les réfugiés indique qu’il fait preuve de mollesse à l’égard du terrorisme.

Elle a aussi pointé du doigt son attitude « narcissique » qui a attiré l’attention en raison d’une photo devenue virale. L’on voit le leader libéral se tenir en équilibre sur ses mains pour effectuer une pose de yoga.

« Justin Trudeau est l’incarnation des rêves du libéralisme vaguement à gauche, qui ont des bonnes intentions un peu confuses; un beau mec qui se met en valeur sans gêne et dans des poses de yoga – une reproduction oedipienne de son père, Pierre Trudeau », écrit-elle en portugais.

Attaques personnelles

Elle se lance ensuite dans les attaques personnelles envers la famille du premier ministre, qualifiant sa mère Margaret de « jolie dame de 67 ans, qui entreprend des campagnes à propos des troubles mentaux ».

Margaret Trudeau a admis qu’elle souffrait d’un trouble bipolaire il y a 10 ans. Depuis, elle parle de sa condition et de la vie avec la dépression sans gêne et a usé de sa notoriété pour devenir une porte-parole pour les maladies mentales.

En parlant de son passé, Gryzinski écrit : « Elle était jeune, magnifique et a injecté de l’air frais dans le paysage politique, déjà énergisé par la Trudeaumanie, qui a fait élire son mari avec sa plateforme libérale – au sens américain. Ou canadien. Margaret s’injectait d’autre chose également. »

Il y a quelques décennies, la mère de Trudeau a fait les manchettes en fréquentant les stars du rock et en dansant au légendaire Studio 54 à New York. Sa consommation de drogue et l’alcool, en plus de sa décision de laisser ses jeunes fils, ont fait d’elle une cible facile pour les journaux à potins dans les années 70 et 80.

Le Canada, un « pays de rêve » ?

Dans le Grand Nord, le Canada est un « pays de rêve » pour tous ceux qui souhaitent une meilleure vie – dont les Brésiliens. Gryzinski souligne que les « Canadiens bien élevés » contrastent avec le « chaos créatif des États-Unis ».

Mais l’économie du pays n’est pas assez forte pour garder le talent canadien chez soi. Le Canada est « bien organisé », mais « ennuyeux », dit-elle.

Elle cite Justin Bieber, Pamela Anderson, Ryan Gosling, Avril Lavigne and Céline Dion comme des exemples de Canadiens qui ont dû s’exiler aux États-Unis pour connaître le succès.
