June Cross

Writer, filmmaker, Columbia Journalism School professor

June Cross makes rhythms from moving images. She tells stories about people others think don't matter. She's a writer, filmmaker, and a professor at Columbia Journalism School. Her memoir, Secret Daughter, was published in 2006. She has produced documentaries about gang violence, the role of religious faith in the black community, and about a New Orleans family struggling to rebuild post-Katrina, and she's currently producing a film about rural women living with HIV but without access to medical care in the American South.
