Meggie Gates

If I ever die, my tombstone will say "She Tried"

Meggie Gates was born and raised in the predominately white suburbs of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Knowing full well she was born for greatness, she began her love of literature by renting library books she could not comprehend in an attempt to rub it in the other 1st graders faces. After reading all of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire upside down, she understood 7 years old was as good a time as ever to become the next J.K. Rowling. She wrote short stories she still refuses to admit are a complete rip-off of Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events and drew many pictures of babies doing death defying stunts to accommodate her text. Despite her short stories receiving much needed criticism from her 2nd grade peers, she has continued to create ever since. I hope you enjoy me as much as I enjoy me and if you don’t, please try to anyways.
