Bradley Cooper Went From Doorman To TV Host (VIDEO)

Before he was a Hollywood hottie, Bradley Cooper worked as a doorman at the Morgan Hotel in New York while getting his MFA at NYU's drama school, he told David Letterman Thursday night.

"There were three candles in the lobby and they said, 'Always keep them lit,'" Bradley said "But the door would open and they would go out so I spent most of my time trying to relight those candles."

It was while he was a doorman that he found an ad in the newspaper that led him to his first acting gig, hosting a little-watched show on the Discovery Channel called 'Globe Trekkers' for three seasons.

Though he had zero outdoor experience he ended up braving extreme outdoor adventures like cycling the Viking trail and sea kayaking with orca whales.

"The idea was that you were not an expert and they loved that and they wanted to watch you suffer," he said.
