When it comes to finding effective, high-quality beauty products, it’s often best to go right to the source: skin care enthusiasts, makeup fanatics and online shoppers who love an item so much that they feel compelled to leave a review for the world to see. No one wants to spend their hard-earned money on items that are a waste of time, which is why it’s essential to cut through the incredibly saturated beauty market and find products that actually work.

Below, we’ve rounded up 15 beauty products that people describe as “magical.” These are the real deal, with qualities that have earned them legions of devoted followers who keep coming back to them. They include powerful anti-aging skin care products, gorgeous makeup items and the must-have tools and gadgets we just can’t live without.

1

Some beloved K-beauty exfoliating face pads

Few items have impressed me quite as much as these magical cult-favorite toning facial pads. I’ve ditched my traditional AHA serums for these bad boys, and my skin has never looked better. The Medicube pads are designed to help exfoliate, balance and brighten skin, reducing oil production, minimizing breakouts and refining the look of pores. They are formulated with powerful alpha and beta hydroxy acids like white willow bark, vitamin C and calming botanical extracts like lavender to soothe skin.

I’ve noticed that my skin is softer, smoother and has a really noticeable glow. Most importantly, I’ve detected a decrease in melasma, which has plagued me since my pregnancy. They’re incredibly potent, and it’s very obvious to me why they’re so popular. I’ve tried out other exfoliating pads, like the beauty insider-beloved Dr. Dennis Gross pads and iS Clinical peels, and can confidently say that these are just as, if not more, effective at a fraction of the price. They've been a game-changer for my skin in the last couple months.

A deliciously luxurious cleansing balm that melts away makeup

I consider this my personal skin care savior and in regards to the price point, I regret to inform you that it's worth every penny. This delicious luxe cleansing balm magically melts away makeup, dirt, grime and other daily impurities, leaving skin more soft, smooth and plump. It's a multitasking cleansing treatment that is as nourishing as it is effective at removing makeup. It's incredibly gentle and mild, is wildly effective and doesn't clog my sensitive pores. It's an investment, but worth it if you want to splurge on yourself.

My colleague Kristen Aiken is also a huge fan of this cleansing balm. She told me that “this item is way pricier than what I’m usually willing to spend on cleanser (which is usually from the drugstore and under $10), but I’ve found it’s one of the only products that can effectively cleanse my skin AND nourish it without making me break out. I have perpetually dry skin no matter how much water I drink, and this saves me from drying out (especially in the winter months). Bonus: If you use it as a second round of double-cleansing (i.e. after you’ve already removed the day’s initial layer of gunk), you can use your favorite facial massage tool over top it, to help your tool slide smoothly along your face and de-puff.”

3

A low-maintenance complexion stick that is like your skin but better

Merit's foundation stick is, in my opinion, the crown jewel of the brand’s offering. It glides on effortlessly, has a creamy consistency and gives you just the right amount of buildable coverage. It's incredibly versatile, too. Some days I use it just as an under-eye concealer or to spot correct around my nose or to hide pimples, and when I want fuller coverage I use it as an all-over foundation. It leaves skin looking glowy, but not oily, has a dewy finish and, unlike many hydrating foundations, it actually lasts all day long. I don't think I could live without this magical, skin-perfecting foundation. It's available in 20 different shades, is safe for acne-prone skin like mine, conditions and moisturizes the skin and can even be used as a contour — just go three shades darker than your usual hue if that's how you plan to use it.

4

An anti-aging, retinol-powered facial oil

“Sorry in advance for how expensive this is, but I've noticed a big difference in my skin since I’ve started using this oil from Tata Harper a few times per week. It's hard to explain, but I just look... fresher? Less haggard? It’s just magically better-looking. (I'm a 41-year-old mom of two who doesn't get enough sleep, so I need help.) It comes with a little dropper and you only need the tiniest bit of product to distribute all over your face, so it does last for a long time. I put it on when my face is still wet from showering, and it has a bright, herbaceous scent that I am slightly addicted to.” — Emily Ruane, shopping managing editor
PS: The brand advises using it as an overnight treatment, but Ruane loves using it sparingly in the daytime, too.
5

A multitasking foundation with SPF and powerful anti-aging active ingredients

The It Cosmetics CC+ cream has been my exclusive foundation of choice for a number of reasons, namely that it makes my skin look absolutely flawless and virtually imperceptible. I also have keratosis pilaris on my face and this is the one perfectly finished foundation that hides all imperfections without looking cake-y or unnatural in the slightest. Plus, the color-correcting formula is also infused with broad spectrum SPF 50 and a whole slew of skin-loving ingredients like hyaluronic acid, peptides and niacinamide so it never feels overly drying on the face. It comes in 22 shades. I'm telling you, your skin will never look as good as it does with this stuff.” — Tessa Flores, shopping writer
6

An editor-beloved hydrating cleanser

"I have always had very dry skin, no matter how much I hydrate and how many layers of serums, moisturizers and oils I slather on. My dermatologist finally told me this past year that I need a cream cleanser — one that doesn't lather or foam — and it has made a world of difference. This one from Image smells like fresh oranges, which I especially love. Morning and night, I just massage it into my skin, then add a little water and massage it some more, and then rinse it off. It removes makeup well, too. It works like magic and I'm never going back to a regular cleanser again." — Aiken

A buzzy newer serum that readers can’t stop buying

HuffPost readers love a high-quality skin care product that can replace pricey facial treatments, like this K-beauty serum that one beauty TikToker calls “filler in a bottle.” Its prowess is attributed to an ingredient called PDRN, which is widely used in injectables overseas. It has anti-inflammatory and tissue-repairing capabilities that can improve skin firmness and leave recipients with a telltale glow. It's usually extracted from salmon sperm cells, but Iope's serum has a completely vegan, plant-based formula that is as unique as it is effective.

Additional ingredients like niacinamide, probiotics and caffeine round out this repairing formulation — all ingredients that are beloved by HuffPost editors and readers alike. It's such a great product that it was awarded a HuffPicks seal of approval.

I have covered countless serums in my many years of beauty reporting, but this one covers all my must-have bases. I've been using it for about six weeks and have noticed that my skin is significantly more hydrated, glowy and bouncy. I make an effort to put it on my neck lines and it definitely helps to blur them as well. It's as magical as it gets and I'm a convert for life!

8

A lusciously rich facial cream

"I may have mentioned before that one of my favorite and most passionate pastimes is testing out face moisturizers, and, as someone with desert-like dry skin, I require a lot from them. The latest moisturizer experiment in my lineup is this triple collagen cream by Korean beauty brand Medicube, which has proven to be decadent, ultra-hydrating, and has even minimized the appearance of those annoying dryness-related fine lines around my eyes. Plus, the fact that I wake up and my skin doesn't feel tight like it normally does, I consider that magic all on its own. And like so many Korean-developed formulas, I love the blend of effective and thoughtful ingredients like conditioning French elastin, skin-brightening niacinamide and tons of potent flower and leaf extracts. This is a pretty rich cream so I just reserve it for nighttime use." — Flores

9

A fortifying, velvety night cream that won't clog pores

Even though the skin-softening formula in this night cream boasts a thick and velvety texture, it claims to be fast-absorbing, residue-free and hydrating. There are a few ingredients in every CeraVe product that make their formulas such winners: hyaluronic acid, niacinamide and three essential ceramides. These super-power additions help draw and retain moisture, protect your skin from environmental stressors that can cause premature aging and fortify the skin barrier.

“If nothing else on the market is magical, it's this CeraVe Skin Renewing night cream. Whenever my skin is looking a little dull or feeling/looking dry, I pop this on my face at night and when I wake up in the morning, it's really restored my skin like magic. I've used it for years and never plan to stop!” — Marquaysa Battle, shopping managing editor

10

A gorgeous blurring lipstick that looks oh-so-French

This sheer matte lipstick is known for its ‘blurring effect,’ which is absolutely magical — so much so, I own it in every color and got rid of all my other lipstick. It's like someone took the ‘smoothing’ Facetune feature and put it on your actual mouth. As a somewhat low-maintenance makeup person who likes to look natural, I love that I can swipe this on in a haphazard manner and know it's always going to look good. It goes on somewhat sheer but can be layered if you want more color payoff. The only downside is that it's not super moisturizing, but I just make sure to layer it on top of my best moisturizing balm." — Aiken

11

Revolution Beauty 5D Lash Pow mascara

Finding a truly great mascara can be a bit of a challenge; many brands claim their lash-lengtheners are the best, but that's rarely the case. However, my colleague Greta Geiselman swears that this mascara is as magical as it gets. "This mascara is INCREDIBLE! Gives great length and volume, doesn’t clump or flake and is $10!" she said. Other reviewers support her enthusiastic claims, saying it's doesn't smear under their eyes and that their lashes have never looked better. One reviewer who described the product as “magic” wrote that it “it literally [made their] lashes 10 times bigger.”

12

A powerful luxury resurfacing toner

"I'm very particular about my exfoliants, as there is a very small number of formulas that I've tried that don't burn my sensitive skin and exacerbate my facial keratosis pilaris. Now I know that this Resurfacing Tonic by boutique skin care brand Eighth Day is a pretty penny, but it's also one of the most effective and non-irritating products I've tried in this category, and it seems pretty darn magical for that reason. It's gentle enough that I'm able to incorporate it four to five times a week as my very first step post-cleansing, and my skin has become noticeably softer, smoother and my pores have been dramatically refined. I also have fewer hormonal breakouts on my chin. It features some tried and true chemical exfoliants that are known for refining texture (lactic and glycolic acid) as well as time-honored soothers like aloe and cucumber extract plus, lentil seed for an added dose of hydration. I really love this stuff!" — Flores

A $40+ lip balm that we swear is worth every dang penny

We've rarely seen an audience response quite like we did when former HuffPost editor Janie Campbell introduced our readers to the Revision Skincare YouthFull lip replenisher. Campbell made a compelling case for this balm, calling it a “truly stellar and game-changing product.”

Formulated with several peptides, vitamins E and C, green tea and shea butter, it's designed to target visible signs of lip aging like puckering, wrinkles, dryness and dullness.

And while it's not typically like us to recommend such an expensive lip balm, the results speak for themselves. It has a thick, tacky texture that really grips the lips, making it a great overnight treatment. Campbell could see results upon her very first application, and other reviewers agree, including one at Dermstore who said it gives her “a plump lip filler look when left on overnight.” Say no more — that's what we call utterly magical. Reviewers concur: “I needed another $40 skincare product like a hole in the head but this stuff is magically delicious,” wrote LIsa F on Amazon.

Merit Beauty

A cream blush that I use nearly every day

I'm a big blush person, so my standards are very high – particularly for tint or balm-type formulas. I have extremely acne-prone skin, so creamy formulas can be quite dicey. But I'm pleased to report that Merit's blush balm is a great option for anyone looking for that natural, lit-from-within glowy vibe that won't clog pores. It is buildable, so you can keep it sheer or layer it on depending on your whim, and it hydrates and conditions the skin and looks good doing it. It has a lovely texture that isn't sticky or smudgy and lasts all day long. I use it nearly daily.

You’ll find similar takes on this product elsewhere on the internet – at Sephora, reviewer DsMomma2011 wrote: “I was shocked by this one! I never write reviews but love this shade. I am very fair with neutral undertones, light brown hair and blue eyes. I got this shade as a sample and when I received it I thought for sure it would be way too dark/brown for me but it's gorgeous! Like a glowy warmth with a bit of a rosy tone to it somehow. Magic! Will be buying a full size.”

A nourishing essence that can tackle common signs of aging in mature skin

This award-winning treatment essence has long been hailed for its ability to work wonders on common signs of aging like fine lines, dark spots wrinkles, uneven texture, dullness and even dry, dehydrated skin. “I really didn’t want to like this product, but I swear it is magical,” wrote Sephora reviewer areisy78779. I tried a sample size with points and loved it enough to purchase a larger size almost immediately.”

It’s formulated with SK-II’s famous Pitera proprietary yeast-derived blend, which the brand claims mimics the effects of popular mainstream ingredients like hyaluronic acid, retinol and vitamin C by improving surface cell turnover renewal and hydrating the skin. Not only has it long been considered downright magical by celebs and skin care experts, but my own mother as well.

My mom is nowhere near as fussy as I am about her skin care routine. She likes to keep things low-maintenance and has long proclaimed that this essence is so magical that it's the only heavy hitter she requires. She said, “I was introduced to it many years ago and saw dramatic changes in my skin texture, and my lines and spots visibly diminished. The price point made me walk away from it for a time, only to eventually realize that I was spending more on a variety of products in an attempt to achieve the same results. (Unsuccessfully). I went back to it and could not be happier. It’s simple and perfect for my skin.”
