Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg and his wife Priscilla Chan have joined the ranks of millions of excited parents and shared a personal pregnancy photo on the social network.

The couple are expecting a girl and Zuckerberg posted a beautiful image taken by the famed Annie Leibovitz on his own social network.

In the caption, he wrote about his wife: "I love her expression: intense yet kind, fierce yet loving, leading yet always supporting others."

The photo is especially touching considering the difficulties the couple have had in conceiving.

In announcing the pregnancy in July, Zuckerberg opened up about how Chan had three miscarriages and how common it is to experience a pregnancy loss.

"We hope that sharing our experience will give more people the same hope we felt and will help more people feel comfortable sharing their stories as well," he wrote.

Zuckerberg added that Priscilla and the new baby are "both healthy," and that he's excited to meet the new arrival.
