A veteran Bharatiya Janata Party MP, Hukumdev Narayan Yadav, rode alone in a bus from the Patna airport to a Jet Airways flight while his co-passengers were left waiting, reported The Telegraph. The incident, reported to have taken place on Sunday afternoon at the Jayaprakash Narayan International Airport, angered co-passengers who were allegedly left "waiting in the sun".
While the Madhubani MP has denied that he asked the airline to give him any special preference, Jet Airways is yet to officially comment on the issue. The airways has only responded to a tweet on these allegations by the Telegraph journalist, claiming it had traced the details of the incident.
HuffPost India has reached out to Jet Airways for comment.
Meanwhile, the 77-year-old MP told journalists that he had never asked for preferential treatment. He has claimed that he will sue media for defamation and that he would move Parliament for a privilege motion.
"When any MP travels, it is usual for Air India staff to take them from VIP lounge to the aircraft," a visibly flustered Yadav told journalists in a video interview. "I have not asked for anything and no one was specially accompanying me."
Last week, a Shiv Sena MP beat up an Air India employee and abused the staff for not giving him a business class seat in a flight that had no business class seats.
