Realtors will tell you it\'s the land, not the house, that counts, and the land here is 1.2 acres overlooking the British Columbia coastline in one of Vancouver\'s most posh areas (Point Grey). And as long as Vancouver continues to be the second-least affordable housing market in the world, wrecks like this will likely keep coming up for sale for millions. (credit:Royal Pacific Realty)

Just short of $38 million will get you this historic house on the outskirts of Calgary, which was once owned by the Ford family of Ford Motor Company fame. This place is unbelievable. There are two houses on the 242-acre property, as well as a covered bridge and even a vintage gas station. The place even manages to maintain a rustic, country-house feel, complete with wood-burning stove and all. Wow. (credit:Sotheby\'s International Canada)
