Amy Hungerford writes about and teaches contemporary fiction at Yale University. For academic audiences, she has written extensively about genocide and literature. Her new book, Postmodern Belief: American Literature and Religion Since 1960, is coming out from Princeton University Press in the spring of 2010. Her teaching is known worldwide through her popular, and free, online course, “The American Novel Since 1945.” Her reviews of recent fiction have appeared in DoubleX and The Yale Review. Books in progress include The Cambridge Introduction to the American Novel Since 1945 --for general readers and students—and a book about McSweeney’s and the literary and educational projects of Dave Eggers and his circle.
