Dennis J. Horton, Ph.D.

Associate Director of Ministry Guidance, Department of Religion, Baylor University

Dr. Horton earned the B.A. in religion and Greek at Baylor University in 1984, the Master of Divinity in Biblical Studies at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Ken., in 1988, and the Ph.D. in Biblical Studies (New Testament) with a minor in philosophy from Baylor in 1995. Prior to assuming his present position as associate professor of religion and associate director of ministry guidance for Baylor's Department of Religion in 2005, he taught missions and supervised ministry at Howard Payne University, Brownwood, Texas, and taught biblical studies and ministry courses at Brewton-Parker College, Mount Vernon, Ga. From 1993 to 1996, he taught in Southeast Asia, serving as chair of the English Department at Yonok College in Lampang, Thailand; adjunct professor of biblical studies at Lutheran Theological Seminary in Hong Kong; and as teaching fellow in Old Testament and biblical themes at Hong Kong Baptist University. Along the way, he pastored in Baptist churches in Georgia, Texas, Indiana, and Hong Kong.
