John Perry

John Perry is an internationally recognized philosopher and a professor emeritus at Stanford, where he taught philosophy from 1974 to 2008. He is a professor at the University of California Riverside. In 2011, he won the Ig Nobel Prize in literature for the essay on which this book is based. (The Ig Nobels honor achievements in science “that first make people laugh and then make people think.”) He is also the co-host of the public radio show Philosophy Talk, which is broadcast regularly on more than 50 stations in 20 states. The father of three grown children, he lives with his wife in Palo Alto, CA.
