Ambassador, Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation

Josephine Nabukenya is an 18-year-old, HIV-positive young woman from Uganda. As an Ambassador for the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation (EGPAF), Josephine provides a voice to children infected with and affected by HIV.

Infected with HIV as a baby, Josephine received the lifesaving HIV care and treatment and psychosocial support services she needed to become a healthy young adult. Today she is a peer counselor for other children living with or affected by HIV. As an Ambassador, she shares her personal story to educate others about pediatric AIDS and support the Foundation’s fight for an AIDS-free generation. She also writes an advice column about HIV/AIDS and children for a student magazine in Uganda, Straight Talk. Josephine lives in Kampala, Uganda with her mother and two sisters.
