Melanie Wallner is a senior at Columbia Grammar and Preparatory
School in New York City. She is a high achieving student who is dedicated to her extra curricular activities, including Student Government, community service, and theater. In the 10th grade, she participated in the year-long life enriching program of City at Peace (www.cpnational.org), which is a worldwide nonprofit organization designed to teach teens how to resolve conflicts and become community leaders, using the performing arts as a tool.

She has also performed in several school productions, including her
favorite, where she played the roll of Nick Bottom in A Midsummer Night's Dream. She started a Teen Leadership Committee Workshop at her school where she mentors freshman on how to tutor under privileged students. In May 2006, she was elected Co-President of her school, Co-President of Key Club, and a Peer Leader. She also received the community service award. She is currently interning at the Huffington Post.
