Nikhil Advani 998

Climate change adaptation, conservation, ecology, evolution and all other things science.

As a senior program officer at WWF, Nikhil’s primary focus is on climate change and species, and human responses to climate change. His species work includes conducting vulnerability assessments and developing and implementing adaptation strategies for WWF priority species. The human responses work is primarily focused in developing countries, learning how communities are being affected by changes in weather and climate, how they are responding, and how their responses impact biodiversity.

Nikhil was born and brought up in Kenya, and went on to pursue his bachelor’s degree and Ph.D. at The University of Texas at Austin. His thesis focused on gaining a better mechanistic understanding of species response to climate change, using the Glanville Fritillary butterfly as a model species.
