Downtown Washington DC's denizens talk living, working and playing in the nation's capital

Since early 2006, Penn Quarter Living (PQL) has been a regular source of news and commentary about living, working, and going out in downtown Washington DC's Penn Quarter. Locally owned and operated, it was born out of a desire by denizens to promote a safe, interesting and fun urban community in the heart of the city; it went daily in July 2006. You'll find downtown DC residents, workers, students and visitors from all walks of life reading and commenting on the site regularly.

Writers ranging in age from the 20s to the 40s form the nexus of the writing staff who live and work in downtown Washington DC. They provide a collective street level view of what it's like to have the local news be the national news with PQL's stories having been linked by local and national media alike. With a fun, citizen centric approach, stories follow issues important to living, working and playing in a reviving urban core told in a chronological, fun, local style set against the backdrop of the nation's capital.
