Susanne Freidberg, associate professor of geography at Dartmouth College, was recently awarded both the Mellon New Directions Fellowship from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation and the Frederick Burkhardt Residential Fellowship from the American Council of Learned Societies. She has also just published her second book, Fresh: A Perishable History (Harvard University Press, 2009).
