Vera Oziransky is the Senior Policy Analyst at the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene’s Division of Policy and External Affairs. Prior to this role, Ms. Oziransky directed New York City’s tobacco mentoring activities for Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Communities Putting Prevention to Work initiative, consulting with 12 health departments nationwide on tobacco control policy, media, & coalition building. Previously, Ms. Oziransky served as the Director of Research and Advocacy at the National Alliance on Mental Illness of New York City (NAMI-NYC Metro). At NAMI-NYC Metro Ms. Oziransky designed, analyzed and published the sole and largest qualitative evaluation of the mental health parity law in New York State, demonstrating the barriers faced by mental health consumers in accessing health benefits.
