Barack and Michelle Obama had good reason to celebrate on Friday ― and they did it in a very telling manner.

That’s because the couple got hitched 33 years ago on Oct. 3, 1992, and they both honored the day on their respective social media accounts.

Both Obamas posted the same photo, but each had a personal message for the other.

In his post, Barack wrote, “The best decision I ever made was marrying you, @MichelleObama. For 33 years, I’ve admired your strength, grace, and determination — and the fact that you look so good doing it all. Happy anniversary!”

Michelle’s message to her husband of more than three decades was also heartfelt:

“We’ve been on quite the journey over the last 33 years—and yet, I love you even more today than the day we said “I do.” Happy anniversary, @BarackObama! I’m so lucky to go through life with you.”

The Obamas’ anniversary posts to each other come a few months after they addressed divorce rumors on Michelle Obama’s “IMO” podcast with jokes.

“She took me back!” Barack joked during the episode, while the former first lady responded, “He made time in his busy schedule to come on.”

The couple wed about three years after they met while working at a Chicago-based law firm.

Michelle, a Harvard Law alumna, was assigned to be Barack’s mentor. Although they liked each other, she only agreed to date him after he offered to quit his job.

In an Instagram post from seven years ago, she confessed that the wedding day didn’t start out perfect.

“You can’t tell it from this photo, but Barack woke up on our wedding day in October, 1992 with a nasty head cold,” she said. “Somehow, by the time I met him at the altar, it had miraculously disappeared and we ended up dancing almost all night.”
