This is a call for all women and girls who want to be part of a sisterhood that has real direct impact to help vulnerable women and girls.

We want you to be part of the WEmpower Initiative. Please read on and I’m sure you’ll want to be part this life changing network of amazing women.

What is WEmpower Initiative?

The WEmpower Initiative is comprised of a network of women who are all committed to fundraising to aid vulnerable women and girls worldwide. The Lotus Flower aims to convert grassroots fundraising into direct projects on the ground for females in need of help.

How does WEmpower Initiative work?

The model is simple.

We kindly ask you to become a member and commit to raising a minimum of £1,000 per year through any chosen activities. Of course, we welcome contributions over this amount, but this sum is the minimum requirement.

Raising £1,000 over the course of a year is easier than you might think, and it can be done in so many creative ways.

The results will speak for themselves: if 100 women pledge to raise £1,000 in 12 months, we will be able to help at least 100 vulnerable women and girls (and thier families) get their lives back on track – if not more!

Why are women being asked to get involved?

This is about us coming together to support each other, in order to help vulnerable females in hugely challenging situations. Collectively we can make a massive difference.

Not only is it an opportunity to raise much-needed funds, but it is also an opportunity to meet other likeminded women from different professions and walks of life.

Furthermore, you can feel proud that your involvement and support will help this fledgling organisation grow. There will also be ample opportunity to showcase your skills and collaborate to benefit the greater good, as well as networking opportunities with other women.

This is a journey we can take together, positing change and making great things happen.

How will the money be used?

Funds will be used to support the work of The Lotus Flower, which is helping vulnerable women and girls. Members will be fully updated on the various projects once they are underway.

The first project to be backed with your funds is Sewing Sisters, an income-generating scheme that is currently helping Yazidi women survivors of ISIS in Iraqi Kurdistan. Dependent on the amount of money raised, there is real scope to extend the reach of the project and the number of women we can assist.

In addition, if there happens to be a global disaster which impacts on women and girls and members feel an urgent need to help these victims, funds can be diverted accordingly. The ultimate aim of WEmpower is for flexibility, and for us to help as many vulnerable females in the world as humanly possible.

What is The Lotus Flower?

The Lotus Flower was founded by Taban Shoresh, who survived genocide as a child while growing up in Kurdisatan. Having endured extreme and life-threatening danger during her formative years, she is now passionate about helping other vulnerable women and girls who are facing similar ordeals today. Keen for all women to join this quest to bring about positive change, Taban knows firsthand that a little kindness goes a long way in allowing hope to triumph over adversity.

Taban founded The Lotus Flower in her living room in early 2016 and had no funds to invest in it. Since then, it has blossomed into a growing enterprise which has garnered huge support, and she has already instigated many projects on the ground. Taban firmly believes in keeping costs to a minimum in order to give back as much as possible to those in need.

Her only ask is for women like you to show your support and join together to make her vision a reality. By harnessing the true power of sisterhood, this venture will go from strength to strength and make a genuine, life-changing difference to those less fortunate than ourselves.

Many of us strive for a world where females are safe and empowered, and have the freedom to speak out and flourish financially. Taban believes in you for wanting to help others too, and she is confident that your involvement with WEmpower will be richly rewarding on both a personal and humanitarian level.

The Lotus Flower is a charitable fund under the auspices of Prism the Gift Fund Registered Charity Number: 1099682. Registered in the UK.
