Where Is Burma? Where The Earthquake Hit

Two 7.0 earthquakes stuck Myanmar last night, causing buildings to sway as far as 500 miles away in Bangkok.

The earthquake struck a relatively rural section of the country that borders on Thailand, Laos, and China. Mynamar is also known as Burma, though the country's official name is the Union of Mynamar.

The earthquakes, which occurred at a shallow magnitude of just six miles, pose little to no risk of creating a tsunami because they were located so far inland.

Check out the maps below to get a better sense of where the country is, where the quake occurred, and some how intense it was.
