UPDATE: Aug. 20, 12:40 p.m. -- University of California San Marcos police lifted a campus lockdown order after making contact with a suspect, who they said was not armed.

San Diego County Sheriff's deputies responded to reports of an armed man on the campus of Cal State San Marcos, according to NBC San Diego.
Deputies received reports of a man with a long gun around 9 a.m. local time, according to the station.
Classes are not in session, but university police have ordered anyone present to shelter in place:
