The ASCAP music lounge may be the best place to be at the TFF. These intimate concerts are for filmmakers and badge holders only - a place to relax and escape the madness of the festival. Now movies are fun and premieres are great but this was honestly the most enjoyable event i've been to.

#1 there's an open bar. Now don't get the wrong idea. It's the middle of the day and I'm still working so i didn't fully partake but I can't complain about a cold seltzer with a slice of lime.

The Canal Room was busy: not overcrowded but nicely full. Filmmakers, actors, music industry insiders (or at least people who dressed the insider part) were relaxing and listening to music.

Alice Smith - voted top 10 artists to watch in 2006- open today's afternoon set. I've seen her perform before and was still amazed by her beautiful, bluesy and sultry voice.

"Film people like the lights." she said beneath an overwhelming amount of bulbs.

The loungers were walking in and out, enjoying some drinks (this lounge is an alcohol sponsors dream) and loving the music.

After a few songs, Martha Wainwright took the stage. She looked great and sounds as lovely as always.

These special events are a gift for filmmakers and badge holders alike. Read more about the amazing lineups they have until the end of the festival.
