How To Remove Sweat Stains Using Meat Tenderizer Spices

A Weird Way To Remove Sweat Stains

It's that time of the year again, when the heat causes us to get a little damp and sticky when we're out and about. And with that comes awful sweat stains that are embarrassing and can completely ruin our clothing. Unfortunately, just laundering as normal usually doesn't remove them. But don't sweat it. We've got a truly unique way to remove the stain that may make the process a little easier!

First, moisten the stain with warm water. Then, sprinkle the stain with meat tenderizer (Clarification: Use non-seasoned meat tenderizer as seasoned may stain clothing) and work the spices into the stain. (Most meat tenderizers contain enzymes such as bromelain, which help breakdown stains. Clarification: Be sure to check with your doctor before using meat tenderizers, especially if you have certain allergies.) Allow the garment to sit for a half hour. Finally, launder the item as usual.

CORRECTION: In a previous version of this article we suggested using meat tenderizers containing the enzyme papain to remove stains. Upon further research we recommend using meat tenderizers containing bromelain, not papain.
