After 20 years, Jeffrey Hawkins reportedly told police he was "sick of running."
The 49-year-old homeless man had spent the last two decades traveling the country, staying in hotels and living off of people's stolen credit cards, according to ABC News.
Hawkins' alleged permanent vacation came to light on Oct. 23 when Orange County, Fla. Sheriff's officers arrested him for trespassing at the Coronado Springs Resort, in Lake Buena Vista.
Rather than discuss the trespassing charge, officers said Hawkins waved his right to remain silent and began talking about credit card fraud.
Hawkins told police he had been homeless and jobless since the '90s when he first began committing credit card fraud by writing down numbers he overheard or saw, according to a police report obtained by ABC.
A search of his hotel room revealed the extensive nature of Hawkkins' duplicity and turned up more than 100 credit card numbers, the report said.
"I found numerous cards, receipts and other items indicating that Hawkins has been up and down the East Coast doing the same thing," sheriff's officer Frank DelGuercio wrote in the report.
Orlando resident Michael Lampert told WFTV that Hawkins was clearly no dummy.
"Obviously he's a pretty smart guy," Lampert said. "He should have found something legal to do."
The Orlando Sentinel reports that Disney was one of Hawkins' favorite targets.
"It's easy to commit fraud at Disney, and I have been here a lot," Hawkins said, according to the report.
Disney claims his alleged fraudulent activity cost the resort $18,000. Hawkins is charged with trafficking in stolen credit cards, false statements, fraudulent use of credit cards and defrauding an innkeeper.
