Jonathan Groff could be in for an extra brisk Thanksgiving if his NSFW admission on NBC’s “Today” is any indication.

Groff is set to perform Thursday with the cast of Broadway’s “Just in Time” at the 2025 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. Appearing Monday on “Today with Jenna & Friends,” however, the Tony-winning actor broke down in giggles when sharing details on his outfit for the occasion.

“I am gonna just brave the cold in the costume,” Groff said. “I’ve decided to not wear any undergarments.”

Taking note of the flub instantly, he quickly clarified, “Any extra undergarments.”

Despite the attempt to course-correct, guest host Andy Cohen joked about what might happen if Groff opted to “free ball” during the parade, before telling the actor: “You need long underwear!”

“I don’t know that we say ‘free ball’ on morning television,” host Jenna Bush Hager then quipped.

Groff is promoting the filmed version of the 2023 Broadway revival of Stephen Sondheim’s “Merrily We Roll Along,” which hits theaters next week. Both he and Daniel Radcliffe received Tonys for their performances in the musical, which also starred Lindsay Mendez.

From now until March, Broadway fans can catch Groff in the musical “Just in Time,” in which he portrays pop singer Bobby Darin, best known for his clutch of 1950s and ’60s hits like “Splish Splash” and “Dream Lover.”

Though it’s unknown whether Darin opted for undergarments during his performances, Groff has suggested the legendary crooner ― who died in 1973 at age 37 ― had a few steamy secrets of his own.

“This guy is fire. He’s such an incredible performer and really special,” Groff said during an appearance on Andrew Chappelle and Cody Rigsby’s “Tactful Pettiness” podcast last year. “I read this book about him, where he talked about his relationship to the audience. He, for example, would wear a condom when he went onstage in case he ejaculated.”

And when Groff began working on “Just in Time,” he said, he found himself similarly, um, aroused: “I did feel some tingles.”
