Karl Lagerfeld: 'I Don't Want An Intellectual Image' (VIDEO)

The Telegraph's Hilary Alexander caught up with Karl Lagerfeld ahead of his Haute Couture spring/summer 2011 show, which means two things: a sneak peek at what the Kaiser will send down the runway and a new slew of Karl quotes.

In this clip, Karl explains why he's always late ("not because I'm rude or lazy, but because I forget to look at my watch") and why he would rather not discuss the books he's reading ("I don't want an intellectual image, I'm a fashion person"). He also reveals that he's wearing a gray suit by Dior Homme -- gasp -- a departure from his usual black get-up, noting, "Fashion is about change and me too. I suddenly discovered that navy blue is better on TV than black, more becoming...the reflection."
