Leslie Bibb is perfectly content without children.
The “White Lotus” star, who recently shared her refreshing take on not wanting to be married to her longterm partner, is now opening up about her decision to be childless.
Bibb appeared on Jenna Bush Hager’s “Open Book” podcast on Thursday, where she spoke about finding out what she wanted ― and didn’t want ― in life.
“I don’t want kids, it’s not a chip I have,” Bibb said while discussing a moment of self-discovery. “And the mom I would wanna be, I’m not sure I can be.”
“And that’s only because my mom, my dad died when I was 3 and my mom had a really hard time with it,” Bibb added. “And then she was working all the time because she had four girls and she had to. And I think I really felt the loss of her presence because she was hustling.”
“All I wanted was her there, but she was providing for us. So, I think I knew how important that was for me, too, if I had a kid, I would want to give that to them,” the “Iron Man” actor shared.
“I wanted my mom there, but I knew that I had a better, more fun mom, because she was really fulfilled by her work,” Bibb explained.
Her own mom aside, Bibb also told Bush Hager that she didn’t “remember playing with babies as a kid,” though she would “cut their hair.”
“But you didn’t have, like, a maternal feeling,” Bush Hager offered.
“No, I never did. I have it towards dogs!” Bibb said.
Bibb is one of the few celebrity women ― and men ― who are speaking up about wanting to be childless by choice.
Miley Cyrus, who hasn’t ruled out motherhood entirely, recently opened up about being on the fence about children.
“It’s just never been something that I’ve been overly passionate about,” the singer said during an appearance on The New York Times’ “The Interview” podcast in June.
“It’s a lot of responsibility and devotion and energy, and if you’re not passionate about that, I don’t know how you do sleepless nights and 18 years of what my mom dealt with,” she added.
