Yesterday, I expressed my extreme disappointment in the deal that the Democratic Leadership made with the President to fund the Iraq War without a time line for withdrawal of our troops. Many of you shared my disappointment in the Leadership and some of you were even less willing than I was to give them anymore time to begin bringing our troops home. I can't say I blame you.

Today, however, let's focus that energy on something else. Let's join the effort to lobby Congress to vote against this ill conceived compromise. After all, it's not a compromise at all. Matt Stoller accurately calls it 'The Capitulation Bill'. So, will you take the time to help convince Congress to vote NO?

You can click here to find the phone numbers for you Senators and House Member. It's a great tool that MoveOn.org has. All you have to do is enter your name, email address and zip code. If you want to drop in to your local Congressional office, MoveOn has produced a flyer that you can leave that urges Congress to have a backbone and vote to get out of Iraq.

I honestly have no idea how this will turn out. Regardless, we should do everything we can to end the war. Everyday, men and women are dying in this war and it must stop.
