There are hundreds upon hundreds of color choices in the paint aisle at hardware stores -- perhaps too many, if you've ever had to discern between "Midnight Blue" and "Dark Navy." Or maybe you just called it a day and picked the nearest neutral, in which case you need to know this: You're not alone. According to Valspar Paint, Lowe's and Porch.com, who researched the top-selling color choices in every state, the decision to go for something in the brown family (we're assuming "beige" fell into this category) is the most popular. Florida, Virginia and North Carolina were outliers, preferring something in the green family.
