What you need: Baking soda and white vinegar.

What you do: Dump 1/2 cup of baking soda into the toilet drain. Follow that up with 1/2 cup of white vinegar and flush as soon as it begins bubbling.

How it works: The fizz breaks up and pushes through the clog without harming your pipes like harsh drain cleaners. You may need to follow up with a few extra courtesy flushes, but with mild clogs, one treatment really should do it.
