Did you know that an infant is more likely to die from Shaken Baby Syndrome/Abusive Head Trauma than they are from drowning, a motor vehicle crash, poisoning, fire and electrocution combined?

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reports that 1200 to 1400 infants are shaken each year in the United States and of those 25 percent of them will die.

On this #GivingTuesday you have a chance to help make a difference. #GivingTuesday is a global day of giving fueled by the power of social media and collaboration.

Recent reports of an 11-day old infant in North Fayette, Pennsylvania who was abused and suffered a brain bleed at the hands of his father for crying, are disturbing and sadden us to our core. We often wonder what can be done and how we can help.

For almost 20 years, the National Center on Shaken Baby Syndrome has been committed to its mission of preventing shaken baby syndrome/abusive head trauma (SBS/AHT) and promoting the well-being of all infants through the development of programs, policy and research, and educating families. Will you help us reach our vision of eradicating SBS/AHT and improving the overall care of infants?

The power to prevent SBS/AHT is in your hands.

Please help.
