WHOA!: Tractor Trailer Jumps Highway Divider, Just Missing Car

A motorist on I-95 in New Jersey captured a frightening scene on video on Sunday morning as a truck lost control on black ice and went careening toward his car.

At the last moment, the truck jumped the highway divider and came to a noisy stop on the other side.

In the YouTube description, the motorist wrote that he had been blocked in by two trucks on the highway and was taking pictures as he waited for traffic to clear when he heard the sound of the truck behind him.

Once he stopped recording, the motorist called 911.

"After that I came to the truck and the rest of the cars to verify they were alright," he wrote. "After arrival of NJ State Trooper and his dismissal confirming that he does not require my presence, I left the scene."

CBS New York identified the motorist who recorded the video as 27-year-old Oleg Varavko.

It was either the end, and I was all hoping for, basically, divine intervention,” Varavko told the station. “And that’s why I just murmured only two words Russian, you know, ‘Gospodi pomilui, God have mercy.’”

Varavko said he went to church after the incident to give thanks.

Rough weekend weather caused a number of accidents in the region, including wrecks that forced the closure of both I-76 and I-95 near Philadelphia.
