'Watch The Throne' Memes: Aziz Ansari's Emojis, And A Mumblecore Movie (VIDEO)

Aziz Ansari Writes 'Watch The Throne' In Emoticons

In the months since Jay Z and Kanye West's studio collaboration "Watch The Throne" came out, we've seen autumn come and go, Herman Cain come and go, and generally lots of things come and go. But "Watch The Throne" will not go. It is here to be interpreted and re-interpreted, someday by robots. To help you better understand our forever friend, we're taking a look at this week in "Watch The Throne" history, starring three white girls, one Indian man, and two cell phones.

First, there was "Watch The Throne" as a mumblecore movie. Chloe Holgate, Katie Dana, and Lily Holgate sit around their kitchen in some college town somewhere, reciting lines from "Watch The Throne" as if they're lines of dialogue three white hipsterish girls would engage in. That's the joke right there, and it's pretty good.

WATCH:

Dana and the two Holgates don't seem to have done much in the way of viral video-making before this, but we predict more in the future. Maybe Take Care in stop-motion, Drake as a snail.

Next up, "Parks and Rec" star Aziz Ansari and his friend Matthew Shawver text messaged each other a transcription of WTT's "N-ggas In Paris," using the Japanese system of multiple emoticons, or emojis. Ansari is a noted Kanye acolyte who showed up for a brief, beautiful moment midway through the music video for WTT's "Otis." His SMS translation is as loyal as you'd expect (click on the image for a larger version):

There it is folks. The week in "Watch The Throne," and what a week it's been! If you're feeling inspired, we encourage you to make your own "Watch The Throne" snowflake. We will add it to the canon, which is already so great.
