Ils se sont dit «oui» pour le meilleur et pour le pire, ce qui peut être assez angoissant pour certaines personnes.
Mais pas pour ce couple de casse-coups qui s'est marié en équilibre, en haut de la plus haute tour du Canada, la CN Tower à Toronto.
Lacy Boland et John Kirk de Barrie, en Ontario, étaient les premiers à vivre une telle expérience à 356 mètres de hauteur.
«Nous avons toujours voulu d'un mariage mémorable et excitant, ont expliqué les jeunes mariés, dans un communiqué. Notre mariage semblait être un rêve lointain, comme nos trois merveilleux enfants qui sont arrivés en premier. Nous nous sentons vraiment choyés d'avoir vécu une telle expérience».
Le couple, qui a remporté ce mariage dans un concours plus tôt cet été, a dû porter des tenues spéciales, dessinées pour l'occasion. La mariée portait une tenue blanche, les demoiselles d'honneur, un habit rose, et les hommes étaient en costume.
C'est le premier mariage de ce genre en Amérique du Nord. Il a été célébré sur les 1,5 m de rebord qui encerclent le sommet de la CN Tower. Ces accros à l'adrénaline étaient attachés, grâce à des harnais, à un rail de sécurité aérienne.
Mais le couple n'a pas pris le risque d'échanger les anneaux au-dessus du vide.
«Pour des raisons de sécurité, des anneaux élastiques, conçus spécialement pour l'évènement, ont été échangés symboliquement. Les vraies alliances ont été échangées dès le retour sur la terre ferme, avec les amis et la famille», a expliqué la tour CNN.
