Hajar Mojtahedzadeh immigrated to the United States from Camp Ashraf during the onset of the first Persian Gulf War in 1991, where she was raised by an Iranian-American family from New Haven, CT. Hajar's parents were both members of the MEK who were murdered by the Iranian regime in the late 1980s. Her brother, Hanif, left the US to return to Camp Ashraf, where he currently resides, at the age of 18. Hajar is currently pursuing her Masters degree in Public Administration at George Mason University in Fairfax, VA, while continuing to work closely with the Iranian-American community on the case of Camp Ashraf.
