Karen Arnold, Ph.D.

Director of the Longitudinal Study for Big Picture Learning

Karen Arnold is a higher education scholar experienced in social science research and publication. She has written about longitudinal research in numerous publications, including “Lives of Promise: What Becomes of High School Valedictorians,” and “Beyond Terman: Longitudinal Studies of Giftedness and Talent” (with Rena Subotnik). More recently, she was co-Principal Investigator with Ted Youn for a panel study of American Rhodes Scholars that received $400,000 of grant funding from the Spencer, Mellon, and Hewlett foundations. Dr. Arnold has served as director of the Big Picture Longitudinal Study since its inception in 2006.
