Tim Norton is a writing instructor at the University of Rhode Island and a freelance writer. In 1998, he founded the Providence Grays, a 19th Century style baseball team that plays without gloves to honor the first Major League champions of 1884. He holds the team record for most broken bones in one game, which proved to be excellent training for the political climate in Rhode Island.
