Drunk Man Arrested On Plane After Throwing Punch Over Cell Phone

He couldn't go an hour without using his phone?

Chicago police arrested a Texas man at O'Hare International Airport on Thursday after he allegedly assaulted a passenger and a cop onboard a United Airlines flight to Dayton, Ohio.

The flight crew told police that Adam Kealing, of Austin, had drunkenly refused to turn off his cell phone as the plane taxied on the runway, forcing it to return to the gate. Once it arrived at the gate, Chicago Police Department officers went aboard to arrest Kealing.

As Kealing was getting off the airplane, another passenger made a remark. Video filmed by a person sitting a few rows back shows Kealing throwing a punch at the man.

"There was a gentleman sitting right in front of him. He looked at him and said, 'Really?' Then [Kealing] punched him. The police were right there. The guy was seat-belted in, so he couldn't get out. The Chicago police were right on the spot. Then it was a big fight in the jet way. He was fighting the police and resisting them," the author of the video told WLS-TV.

The officer was hit in the altercation but not seriously injured.

Kealing faces four misdemeanor charges, including resisting arrest and battery causing bodily harm. He's scheduled to appear in court Aug. 23.

Flight times from Chicago to Dayton average about 75 minutes.
