Angelina Blames "Protective" Reps For Pre-Interview Contract Kerfuffle, Calls Measure "Excessive"

Last night, Jon Stewart had a big fish indeed as a guest: Mega-superstar Angelina Jolie. After talking about her new movie, A Mighty Heart, her plans to keep on adopting (though the word "Brad" was not mentioned, just "we"), how hot she'd look in a burkha, and how she's a regular visitor to Pakistan, Stewart addressed the day's damning report that Jolie had requested — and required — reporters seeking interviews to sign a pre-interview contract agreeing not to ask her about her personal life. (Stewart said that he had not been asked to sign such a document.) Jolie responded to those claims by acknowledging that yes, a "memo" had gone out requesting — but not demanding — that reporters refrain from asking personal questions and "focus on the movie." Said Jolie: "It was not mandatory, and I didn't put it out there - it was from my representatives trying to be protective of me, but it was excessive and I wouldn't have put it out there." Stewart then lightened the moment by asking Jolie to sign a pre-prepped pre-nuptial contract, which she willingly did, and the happy tone was back in the interview.

Jolie also said that Mariane Pearl took five days to contact Jolie after seeing the film. Ouch. Throw the woman a bone, wow.

On another note, Jon's comment to Jolie that a burkha could not "contain your hotness" elicited a bashful smile from Jolie in a very sweet and genuine moment. Also, she says she wants to have "between seven and thirteen or fourteen" kids. FOURTEEN. Full video here at Comedy Central.

Update: The Smoking Gun has the full agreement. Excessive indeed.
