Now is the time to see Ariana Grande in concert, because it sounds like the singer is closing that chapter of her life ― at least “for now”
“I’m going to do a small stint of shows next year because that is, like, something that authentically sounded good to me,” Grande said during an appearance on Amy Poehler’s “Good Hang” podcast on Tuesday.
She said that “following those authentic impulses feels like a good idea,” though she conceded that the last “10 or 15 years will look very different to the ones that are coming up.”
The singer shared, “And I don’t want to say any definitive things. I do know that I’m very excited to do this small tour, but I think it might not happen again for a long, long, long, long time, you know?”
Grande then added, “So I’m going to give it my all, and it’s going to be beautiful. And I’m so grateful that I think that’s why I’m doing it, because I’m like, ‘One last hurrah!’ For now.”
Grande hinted at what the future holds for her after she wraps her “Eternal Sunshine” tour in 2026.
“I spent so much time only doing pop music, but I grew up as a girl who loved musical theater and comedy,” she said, adding that she’s going to chase things that are “best for my soul and also for my art.”
Miley Cyrus is another artist who’s recently come forward about not wanting to tour ― albeit for different reasons than Grande.
“I do have the physical ability, and I have the opportunities to tour. I wish I had the desire, but I don’t,” the Grammy winner shared in an interview with “Good Morning America.”
“There’s artists like Prince that are not here today that lived such a high-intensity lifestyle out on the road,” Cyrus said of the toll touring can take on a human. “And it’s really hard to maintain sobriety when you’re on the road, which is a really important, kind of, pillar of stability in my life.”
