In what can best be described as a moment of Hollywood détente, John Stamos and Jerry O’Connell were all smiles as they appeared in a photo shared this weekend.
The selfie, which O’Connell posted to Instagram Saturday, shows him posing with his wife Rebecca Romijn’s ex-husband at comedian Howie Mandel’s 70th birthday celebration in Van Nuys, California. Appearing between the two men in the photo was Stamos’ current wife, Caitlin McHugh.
In his caption, O’Connell compared himself and Stamos to President Donald Trump and New York Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani, who last week shared a perplexingly chummy meeting at the White House.
“Gorgeous fam and gorgeous people,” he wrote, before wishing Mandel a happy birthday.
Mandel, meanwhile, playfully took credit for the reconciliation in the comments, writing: “This is what I do. I bring people together. You’re welcome.”

Stamos and Romijn split in 2005 after seven years of marriage. Romijn went on to wed O’Connell in 2007, while Stamos and McHugh have been married since 2018.
O’Connell’s tense relationship with Stamos can be traced back to 2023, when Stamos candidly opened up about his previous marriage in a memoir, “If You Would Have Told Me.”
In an interview with People around the time of his memoir’s publication, Stamos said he’d once thought of Romijn as “the Devil,” noting: “I couldn’t believe how much I hated her, and it ruined my life.”
When speaking to Howard Stern that same month, the “Full House” actor also recalled having felt “emasculated” by Romijn during their relationship given her rising star at the time.
That same year, O’Connell appeared on CBS’s “The Talk,” and said he’d made a conscious decision to keep his opinion of Stamos’ comments under wraps.
“My wife’s ex-husband recently wrote a biography, and it referred to my wife in a negative manner,” the “Jerry Maguire” actor said. “And a lot of people have asked me about that in press, and it would be easy for me to say: ‘Screw you, how dare you ask me that?’ But really, it will be bringing attention to a situation that I don’t want to feed into.”
Though Stamos’ comments on Romijn made headlines, he also told Stern he’d begun to reevaluate his role in the demise of his first marriage while in recovery from alcohol addiction.
“If I didn’t go through what I did with Rebecca, I wouldn’t have been with Caitlin,” he said. “I wouldn’t know how to be.”
