As the days get shorter and darker, we notice that our wardrobes are getting darker, too. Our colorful sundresses, bright pants and neon T-shirts are replaced with black tights, dark pants and dresses and neutral outerwear. Our anecdote? Bright, colorful coats. Like, so-bright-you-gotta-wear-shades yellow, blue and orange coats. Go ahead and wear your LBD and your black pumps, but throw on a red topper. Not only do bright shades put some color near your face, they are also guaranteed to illicit positive reactions from passersby who are as bummed about the blah weather as we are. Plus, your friends can easily pick you out of the crowd.
