Channing Tatum Gets Candid About 'Athletic' Sex Life With Jenna Dewan Tatum

"We get down."

Channing Tatum knows good sex. What, like that's a surprise?

Up until now, however, details of Tatum's sex life have been the stuff of dreams (possibly legends) and late-night repeat viewings of "Magic Mike XXL."

On Wednesday, the actor sat down for a refreshingly candid interview with Cosmopolitan Editor-in-Chief Joanna Coles in France to promote his new vodka brand, Born and Bred. After a couple swigs, the conversation naturally turned to sex. Tatum is apparently a huge fan.

When asked about his relationship with sex, Tatum let out this gem of a sound bite: "I like it ... Me and sex are friends."

After further prodding, he explained, "[Sex] should be something that enriches your life ... It shouldn't be the only reason you're in a relationship."

"It's one of the clearest ways we can communicate," he added. "It boils things down to a very primal level."

Please continue, Channing.

Then Coles, our new hero, had the gall to ask about Tatum's energy in bed.

"I just lay there ... She's really athletic," he joked about wife Jenna Dewan Tatum. "We get down. We have a great sex life. We communicate very well."

Sex columnist Esther Perel then took over the line of questioning and turned the heat all the way up, inquiring into how those at Château Tatum use intimacy.

"We don't have sex back into our happiness. That's how we know that there's something we have to talk about," he explained. "We don't hate-fuck each other."

Finally, Perel explained how she likes to describe sex as a place rather than an act. After asking the actor where he "goes" in sex, the actor offered up a surprisingly honest and semi-relatable window into his life:

“We have truly all different kinds of sex. Sometimes it’s like, ‘Look, you gotta get this done. I gotta go to work.’” he said. "And then we have full on fully connected otherworldly connection sex."

We appreciate your candor, Channing.
