When the romantic comedy, The Wedding Ringer, opens in theaters Jan. 16, audiences will see the iconic actor Cloris Leachman as Grandma, alongside Kevin Hart, Josh Gad and Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting. A long way from her hometown of Des Moines, Iowa, Cloris has played countless memorable roles on stage and in film and television. Her collection of industry awards includes all the major statues—with more Primetime Emmy Awards than anyone else. Her printed resume would require three pages, minimum, to include credits like Lassie and The Twilight Zone to The Mary Tyler Moore Show as the lovable Phyllis Lindstrom, a character that prompted a spinoff series. More recently, she played Maw Maw in 83 episodes in Raising Hope.
