'Daily Show' Host Has 1 Question For Megyn Kelly After She Argues Epstein Wasn’t That Bad

“There’s a difference between a 15-year-old and a 5-year-old,” Kelly said.

Mergyn Kelly’s latest argument in support of Jeffrey Epstein makes her hatred for Black Santa Claus look quaint.

On Thursday, “The Daily Show” tackled how the right seems to be downplaying the late sex offender’s crimes after the House released new emails to the public that imply President Donald Trump was well aware of Epstein’s criminal activity during their friendship.

After playing several clips of MAGA-friendly pundits calling the Epstein files “an attempt to smear the president,” “a distraction” and “a little bit played out,” host Josh Johnson thought their attempts to sweep the story under the rug were pretty lackluster.

“If you want to downplay this story, you need a master, all right?” Johnson said. “Megyn Kelly, you’re a master of spin. Show us what you got.”

“The Daily Show” then rolled clips of Kelly arguing how Epstein was “not a pedophile” on her podcast Wednesday.

The show aired one clip of Kelly saying the disgraced financier “wasn’t into, like, 8-year-olds. But he liked the very young teen types.” It played another clip of Kelly claiming, “There’s a difference between a 15-year-old and a 5-year-old, you know?”

The latter of these caused the entire studio audience of “The Daily Show” to collectively groan.

After the audience quieted down a bit, Johnson delivered one pointed question toward Kelly, who was a lawyer before she pivoted to a media career: “How the hell was Megyn Kelly ever an attorney?”

Johnson then mocked what Kelly must have sounded like in court.

“‘Your honor, my client only engaged in diet pedophilia!’”

Johnson then concluded:

“Ma’am, everyone knows there’s a big difference between a 15-year-old and a 5-year old. But everyone also knows there’s never a good reason to be talking about that difference.”

It should be noted that Kelly did say she found Epstein’s crimes disgusting on her podcast Wednesday.

“Whatever. It’s sick. Every time we start talking about Epstein, it makes your skin crawl. … The whole thing is just disgusting,” she said.

But she did indeed hammer down the idea that sexually assaulting a teenager isn’t as bad as doing it to a child, and said she was splitting hairs about the definition of pedophilia after speaking with an unnamed source who was “very, very close to this case” and also shared that opinion.
