Denver Dumb Friends League To Celebrate All Things Feline

Denver Dumb Friends League Commences CatFest

The English novelist Terry Pratchett once said, "In ancient times cats were worshipped as gods; they have not forgotten this."

Neither has the Denver Dumb Friends League, which created CatFest to help revive the sentiment on July 9 from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. Admission is free, and the League says they're expecting over 2,000 to attend.

“Summer is a busy time of year for the Dumb Friends League and animal shelters across the nation, as thousands of homeless cats and kittens come through our doors,” said Bob Rohde, president and CEO of the Dumb Friends League. “CatFest is a fun and educational event that’s intended to encourage cat adoptions, as well as give pet lovers the opportunity to learn more about feline friends.”

In addition to $10 adoption fees on all cats age 5months and older, attendees can expect to purr-use (couldn't resist) the Meow Market with more than 25 vendors selling all things pleasing to felines, a purebred exhibit, free vet advice, kitty goodie bags, and face painting for kids.

KOSI 101.1 will be in attendance from 10 a.m. until noon, and then at 1 p.m. Radio Disney takes over.
