What MLS Commissioner Don Garber Learned By Working In The NFL (VIDEO)

What MLS Learned From The NFL

Before becoming the commissioner of Major League Soccer, Don Garber spent 16 years with the National Football League. Garber visited with HuffPost Live at South by Southwest in Austin, Texas on Monday and discussed what he was able to bring from the NFL to help the MLS grow.

"The NFL is a partnership. And all of those owners are tying to kill each other on the field every Sunday or Monday. But when they're in the boardroom, they're working together to grow the game. And that's what MLS, the formula was based on," Garber said.

Garber also talked about referee lockouts and how David Beckham has affected the league, both on and off the field.
